Margaret "Tootie" Carpen, 97, Weedville

Margaret "Tootie" Carpen, passed away on October 6, 2026 at Christ the King Manor, DuBois, PA. She was born on March 12, 1929 in Weedville, PA, the youngest child of Attilio and Margaret Peretti.


Margaret graduated from Weedville High School in 1947. She married Frederick “Fritz” Carpen at St Joseph's Catholic Church Force, PA in 1950. They lived in Erie, PA during their marriage.


Tootie worked in a number of Plastic Factories in Erie. She was an avid golfer and her putting was amazing. She will be remembered for her lovely smile, sporty wardrobe, and perfect hair and makeup. Tootie was a warm and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her Chocolate Cake and Pizzelles were unforgettable.


She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and siblings: Anna DeMore, Mary Goodrow, Joseph Peretti, Attilia Nuccetelli, Angelo Peretti (in infancy), and William Peretti.


She is survived by her daughter Kathleen and her husband John Bordick, her granddaughter Leigh Vaughan and her husband Kristos, and her great grandchildren, Matthew, Jacob, and Athena Vaughan; Grandson Nathan and wife Tiffany Bordick and their children Kayla and AJ; her sister-in-law Joan Davis, and several nieces and nephews.


In honoring Margaret's memory, the family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Forest View and Oak View of Springhill, Erie, PA, and Christ the King Manor in DuBois, PA. Your loving care and attention were deeply appreciated during her final years.


Public Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home of Penfield, PA.


A Mass celebrating Margaret's life will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at St. Joseph's Church in Force, PA , with Father Mark Mastrian.
