Nussbaum and Ehrensberger Successful at Rolfe’s Hunt

Colby Nussbaum and Reese Ehrensberger from Elk County hunted hard over Labor Day Weekend, “The sun was coming up each morning when we finished our stands.” Brady Nussbaum also hunted with Colby and Reese, and formed the coyote and crow-hunting trio.

The trio hunted private lands in Elk County all weekend. Colby harvested with a .243 rifle with a thermal scope. Reese shoots a .22-.250 rifle also with a thermal scope.

Colby had the first harvest at 10:30 pm on Saturday and brought a 12.0# female coyote to the Rolfe weigh station. Colby harvested a 34.4# female coyote on Sunday near 2:00 am. Reese showed off his shooting skills at a stand on Monday by harvesting a 26.0# female coyote near 1:30 am. At yet another stand that morning, Reese harvested another female coyote at 13.8# near 3:30 am.

Colby’s 34.4# female coyote is currently the largest female coyote brought to the weigh station at Rolfe.

Reese also harvested two crows on Sunday in Elk County.
