Phyliss JoAnn Baughman Burkett Yeager, 92, of Ridgway, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2026, at Lutheran Home at Kane following a lengthy illness.
She was born on October 1, 1933, in Shippenville, PA, the daughter of the late Alfred and Muriel Wingard Baughman.
On September 5, 1950, she married the late Blair Lee Burkett, who preceded her in death on December 4, 1964.
After moving to Ridgway, she married Robert C. Yeager on September 16, 1972, who survives.
JoAnn was a member of Church of Christ, raising her children modeling the grace and character of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She found immense joy in being surrounded by her children and grandchildren, with her house often filled with laughter and the delightful chaos of family gatherings. JoAnn and her husband, Robert Yeager, enjoyed traveling together and discovering new dining experiences, making memories that they cherished throughout their lives.
In addition to her husband of 53 years, she is survived by 7 children; Ronald (Roxane) Burkett, Edward (Laurie) Burkett, Deborah Burkett Sieg, Loretta (Steve) Burkett Nicklas, Reshawn (Larry) Shipe, Randy (Angela) Yeager, all of Ridgway, and Robert (Ava) Yeager Jr. of Johnsonburg, 13 grandchildren: Cydni, JoRae, Sara, Amy, Nathan, Katie, Cassie, Larry, Colby, Landon, Dylan, Jennilynn, and Haydn, and many great and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a stepbrother, Vic Black of Hallton, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Kay Burkett Oknefski, a grandson, Matthew Burkett, a granddaughter, Isabella Shipe, a step granddaughter, Rosanne Christine Yeager Garrison, and a great great granddaughter, Gracen Hope Redfoot, and a son in law, Kirk Sieg. She is also preceded in death by brothers: Robert (Donna) Baughman, William (Donna) Baughman, Cecil (Lorriane) Baughman, and Ernest (Bertha) Baughman, 1 sister, Eleanor (Uncle Craig) Craig, 2 half-sisters, Noami and Noreen, and 1 half brother, Denny, and step brother, Jim.
A Funeral Service for Phyllis JoAnn Yeager will be celebrated on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM at The Bible Training Center, 657 Evergreen Drive, Ridgway, PA, 15853, with her 3 sons, Ron, Ed, and Randy, officiating.
Burial will follow at Munderf Cemetery.
Funeral Luncheon will follow at New Hope in Christ Church, 10 Gillis Ave, Ridgway, PA 15853.
Family and friends will be received on Friday at the Bible Training Center from 9:30 AM until the time of Service.
