Thomas A. VanSlander, 78, St. Marys

Thomas A. VanSlander, 78, of 1189 E. Eschbach Road, St. Marys, passed away peacefully Monday, February 16, 2026 at Highland View Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.


He was born March 31, 1947, in St. Marys, son of the late Arthur and Virginia Cotter VanSlander. He was a lifelong resident of the area, a graduate of Elk County Christian High School, Class of 1965, and was a supervisor at Imperial Metals and when it was sold, he worked at Metco Industries. He was the Chairman of the American Powdered Metal Institute for four years and a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving his country from 1967 to 1971.


On December 20, 2002, in St. Marys, Tom married the late Lora Huff, who preceded him in death on January 20, 2015.


Tom is survived by his children, Timothy VanSlander of St.Marys and Denise Beimel (Rick) of Kersey; 5 grandchildren, 2 greatgrandchildren: and his sister, Judy Trambley of Arvada, CO.


Tom was a man of simple pleasures but had many interests. He enjoyed the outdoors, listening to music, and playing the guitar. He found joy driving his jeeps in the woods, attending rodeos and cherished friendships.


Services will be announced for a date in the future.
