Kinzua Bridge State Park Complex will offer a variety of programs in the month of October. Programs may be postponed or cancelled in the event of adverse weather conditions. For more information on a park program, please call the park office at (814)778-5467.

Colors Up Close! – Sunday, October 4th at 1:00PM – Stop by our Visitor Center classroom to learn about how and why leaves change color in the fall and take a look under a microscope to see plant cells up close!

Birding from the Bridge – Saturday, October 10th at 8:00AM – View birds from the bridge to help celebrate World Migratory Bird Day! Bring your own binoculars or borrow a pair from the park on a first-come first-serve basis. Binocular instructions for beginners. Meet in front of the Visitor Center.

Intro to Merlin – Saturday, October 10th at 12:00PM – Join our educator in the classroom to learn about Merlin, a free birding app by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Learn how you can use it to help you identify birds in your own backyard! Download the Merlin app and create an account before you come so you can practice at the park!

Evening Birding – Saturday, October 10th from 4:30PM to 6:00PM – Wrap up your World Migratory Bird Day celebration with an evening bird walk! Bring your binoculars or borrow some on a first-come first-served basis and take a walk around the main park area to view migrating birds that may be passing through the area. Meet in front of the Visitor Center.

Make a Mosaic – Saturday October 17th at 1:00PM – Join our educator in the classroom for a fun, fall themed craft! Learn about how and why some trees change colors in autumn, before making your own paper mosaic of the Kinzua valley using scrap paper! No prior artistic skill required.

Save the Stems! – Saturday, October 24th at 1:00pm – Stop by our pop-up table near the skywalk to learn about how leaving some fall leaves and dead flower stems standing in your garden can help support insect and pollinator populations! This program may be moved indoors in the event of poor weather.

Birding from the Bridge – Sunday, October 25th at 8:00AM – View birds from the bridge! Bring your own binoculars or borrow a pair from the park on a first-come first served basis. Binocular instructions included! Meet in front of the Visitor Center. Dress for the weather. This program may be cancelled due to inclement weather.

BATS! – Saturday, October 24th and Saturday October 31st at 11:00AM – Why are people afraid of bats? Stop in the Visitor Center to find possible answers!

I Spy a Skull – Saturday, October 31st at 3:00PM – Come to the classroom to view various animal skulls and replicas! Learn some tips on skull identification and then try your luck to see how many animal skulls you can get right!
