Standoff With Police In Phillipsburg

State police have confirmed that a standoff with an armed suspect is unfolding in downtown Philipsburg.

According to documents obtained by 6 News, troopers attempted to serve a warrant at an apartment along North 2nd Street on Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities say the alleged suspect, who is not yet being named, reportedly failed to respond to troopers and when a landlord attempted to open the door, the suspect reportedly told police that he was armed.
