Tammy Marie Houttekier, age 66, Johnsonburg

Tammy Marie Houttekier, age 66, of East Center Street, Johnsonburg, PA, died July 17, 2026 at her daughter’s home in Wilcox, PA, after an illness over this past year. A daughter of the late Charles T. and Carol A. (Goodreau) Dornish, she was born on November 2, 1959 in St. Marys, PA. On May 21, 1999 she married Randy Lee Houttekier, Sr., who survives at home.

Along with her husband, Tammy is survived by seven children, Jamie (John) Hodgdon of Wilcox, James (Holly) Jordan of Wilcox, Willis Jordan III of Wilcox, Lisa (Kris) Jordan of Wilcox, Gina Houttekier of Northwood, OH, Melissa (Howard) Scholz of Toledo, OH and Randy (Shaina) Houttekier, Jr. of Iowa; twenty eight grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren; three brothers, Michael (Kary) Dornish of Columbus, NE, Joseph (Teresa) Dornish of Ridgland, SC, James (MaryPat) Dornish of St. Marys; three sisters, Paula (Kenneth) Meyer of St. Marys, Melissa (Alan) Hoag of Ellabell, GA and Rebecca (Jason) Gabler of St. Marys; an aunt, Geraldine Witherson; an uncle, Steven (Joann) Goodreau; and a friend she considered a sister since the third grade, Jody Bennett.

Besides her parents, Tammy was predeceased by a sister, Karen Rogan and a granddaughter, Natalie Jordan.

Tammy attended DuBois Business College to get her education as a Medical Assistant and also received her EMT certification. She worked at Metaldyne for fourteen years; at Elk Haven Nursing Home for several years, with Community Nurses and as an EMT. She lived all her life in Elk County, the past thirty-one years in Johnsonburg and was a member of the Johnsonburg First Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, bingo, diamond painting, spending time with her family and was an avid Steeler’s fan. She also enjoyed playing cards, poker, baking and going to garage sales.

Public Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Ubel Funeral Home of Johnsonburg.

Funeral Services will follow the visitation on Saturday, 12:00 noon at the Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Johnson.
