Two Charged In Overdose Death In Elk County

Two people are facing charges of conspiracy to deliver drugs resulting in death following a January overdose investigation in Elk County.

Colby McCandless, 30, of Ridgway, and Amanda Earnest, 38, of Sweet Valley, are charged with conspiracy to deliver drugs, drug delivery resulting in death, and involuntary manslaughter, among several other offenses. The charges stem from an incidnet in January when police responded to a possible overdose involving a known 59 yea rold man at his residence.The victim's autopsy determined he died from a fentanyl overdose.

McCandless was arraigned on $300,000 bail, while Earnest was arraigned on $250,000 bail. Both remain housed at Elk County Prison awaiting preliminary hearings scheduled for Oct. 13.
