Witness Observes Vehicle Fire, Driver Escapes Unharmed

In a separate incident, State police investigated an accident on River Road in Jay Township. Michelle Hetrick, 42, of Weedville was traveling east on River Road when a witness reported observing a vehicle traveling approximately 40 miles per hour and then observed sparks and fire underneath the vehicle. The witness stopped the moving vehicle on the road to inform the driver of the fire. The operator escaped the burning vehicle without injuries. No foul play is suspected.
