Anna M. Polaski, 93, of 405 Third Avenue, Johnsonburg, passed away early Saturday morning, May 17, 2025, at her residence, following a lengthy illness. She was born on December 8, 1931, in Johnsonburg, a daughter of the late Anthony “Toe” and Emily Papa Cherry. On October 8, 1955, she married Michael J. Polaski. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2023.
A lifelong resident of Johnsonburg, Annie was a 1949 graduate of Johnsonburg High School. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church, the Rosary Altar Society and the CD of A. She enjoyed her family and loved attending all her kids and grandkids sporting events. She had been a girls softball coach for many years and loved to play sports, draw, paint and go for walks.
Ann is survived by her children, Geno Polaski (Cindy) of Johnsonburg, Mary Long (Paul) of Johnsonburg, Pat Polaski (Pam) of Wilcox, Michele Cherry (Dick) of Wilcox and Ida Padasak (Pete) of Johnsonburg, 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by siblings John “Chisel” Cherry (Sally) of Johnsonburg, Joseph “Butch” Cherry of St. Marys and Elaine Myers (Roger) of Johnsonburg and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Annie is predeceased by brothers Thomas, LuLu and JoJo Cherry and her sister Janeth Esposito and 2 siblings in infancy.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial for Anna M. Polaski to be conducted at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 10 AM with Fr. David Wilson, Pastor, as celebrant. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Johnsonburg. There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are under direction of Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 401 Chestnut Street, Johnsonburg.
