Passerby Able To Remove Two People From Vehicle On Gardner Hill Seconds Before The Vehicle Became Engulfed In Flames

State police investigated an accident on Gardner Hill. According to police a vehicle driven by Richard Hedlund, 85, of Weedville, was traveling west on Gardner Hill Road when for unknown reasons the driver failed to properly negotiate a slight right-hand turn. The vehicle left the road and struck 3 separate trees. Both the drive and passenger were entrapped. A passerby arrived at the scene to provide assistance and was able to remove both people from the vehicle before it became engulfed in flames. The passerby was identified as Jonathan Beck.
