Pennsylvania Residents Warned Of Text Scam

Pennsylvanians are being warned of a circulating scam in which individuals receive fraudulent messages claiming to be from a municipal court, according to Attorney General Dave Sunday.

The messages often allege the victim has an unpaid parking ticket that requires immediate payment or a court appearance and warn of consequences such as additional fines or court enforcement action.

The fraudulent messages frequently include a link directing recipients to make a payment. AG Sunday stressed that no one should click on the link or copy it into a browser.
