William G. Beck, age 76, Weedville

William G. Beck, age 76 of Lewis Road, Weedville, PA, died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Penn Highlands-DuBois. A son of the late Gerald and Elizabeth (Lyon) Beck, he was born on July 22, 1948 in St. Marys. On August 4, 1978 he married Paula J. (Frey), who survives at home.

Along with his wife, Bill is survived by: three children, Randy (Riza) Beck of Florida, Warren (Jody) Beck of St. Marys and Renee (Jonathan) Sorg of St. Marys; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Beck of St. Marys, Elaine Johnson of Weedville and Rita (Paul) Goldsberry of North Carolina; a brother-in-law, Leonard Schneider of Weedville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by: a sister, Kaye Schneider and a brother-in-law, Alfred Johnson.

Bill Graduated Bennetts Valley High School class of 1966 and received his Machinist Certificate from Williamsport Area Community College. He worked as a Machinist in the same plant in St. Marys for forty years, retiring from SGL Carbon in 2012. He was a member of the New Hope in Christ Church of Ridgway where he served as Treasurer and an Elder for many years. He was a life member of the NRA and lived most of his life in Weedville.

Bill was always quick to lend a helping hand. He could often be found in his garage working on his “Ford” cars and trucks, or a friend’s lawn equipment.

Public visitation will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home of Penfield, PA.

Funeral Services will be held, 11:00 a.m., Friday, at the funeral home with Pastors Edward Burkett and Paul McCurdy.

Interment will take place in Parklawn Memorial Gardens of Ridgway.
